Domagoj Brozović on the History of Croatian Comics for an Routledge Publication

Assoc. Prof. Domagoj Brozović, PhD, Co-Coordinator of Research Activities on the Innovations in Reading and Teaching Literature project, is preparing the chapter “From Proto-Comics to the Global Market: A Concise History of Croatian Comics” for the international publication The Routledge Handbook of Global Comics.

The publication is conceived as an international scholarly overview of different comics traditions, histories, and socio-cultural contexts around the world. Brozović’s chapter focuses on Croatian comics, their development, and their place within the broader international context.

The chapter builds on Brozović’s research into comics, visual narrative, and the relationship between verbal and visual elements in storytelling, while contributing to the international visibility and positioning of Croatian comics within the global history of the medium.
